What interest you about intertextuality in film?

Intertextuality is when films borrow visual ideas from other films and use those ideas in their own film.

Intertextuality is interesting in films because you can see where the film writers get their idea from, for their films. For instance, ‘What Lies Beneath’ and ‘Psycho’ have a comparison between them, the shower scene in both films are quiet similar because of the same white shower curtain and the idea of the shower running. Also, they are intertextual because of the same white bathroom. Moreover, other films also take ideas from other film, which I did not know before.
Another film that shows intertextuality is ‘Fatal Attraction’ and ‘Psycho’, they both have the same white bathroom, white curtains and shower tube. Also, the knife shape of the knife that was used in the film to attack the women was the same. It is interesting to see how many ideas were borrowed from another film.
